Does anyone know what happens if you request traffic school and never complete it?

I was wondering if it just puts a point on your record or if you have to pay a fine? I was also wondering if I can request traffic school again for a diff ticket since i didnt complete the original one. I live in Los Angeles county? anyone have any idea?

Wow, I didnt know everyone was going to be so MEAN.

But anyways, on a side note since no one seems to understand, I PAID the ticket plus like an extra $30 to actually get them to allow me to do the traffic school. I requested the traffic school so i wouldnt have a point on my record. I work 2 jobs and go to school full tim... so SH*T happens, I am sorry to tell ya... but either way I just need to know if that point gets on my record and thats it?

In my jurisdiction it'll result in a Contempt of Court Warrant (Failure to Comply).

You'll be arrested and go in front of the judge who gave you the break of traffic school. He'll decide on the penalty.

I'm going to guess that you will: get a fine, get points off your license and not be allowed to request it again for the other ticket. A better idea would be to improve your driving skills from now on :).

Usually when you plead guilty they say trafffic school or a fine of such and such, 6 months in jail and x amt of points. traffic school is given as an alternative to whatever sentence you would have gotten. If you don't do what you agreed to, you get chioce B. So, odds are it will eventually catch up to you and they will issue a warrant to haul you back into court to impose the original sentence. See, you failed to complete what the court ordered. Its like not showing up at all. You essentially have told the court to go scratch...they DO NOT like that, at all.
If you could just not show up, with no consequences, everyone would do it.
there will be consequences, it just takes time for them to get notified you could not keep your word.

You will probably get whatever you would have gotten if you had just refused traffic school in the first place, plus perhaps an extra fee for court costs.

Since you have already paid for what the ticket would have cost you, it stands to reason that if you do not complete traffic school you will be required to appear in court and get a stiffer sentence or even get your license revoked for a period of time. And if you get caught driving with a suspended license, you will, in all likelihood, go to jail.

Sounds like you "requested" traffic school to avoid a fine or incarceration for bad driving habits, didn't finish it and now you've been caught again and are worried it will come back to bit you in the A S S.

Both, you will retain the point that Traffic School was supposed to take off your record and have to pay a fine. You should have a timeframe to complete Traffic School and if you don't, you will have to go to court.

You have to you lose the money you paid for traffic school and you get a point on your record.

I would guess that since you defaulted on the traffic school that the ticket has reverted to its original form. Its very possible that there is a bench warrant out against you. I have know idea if you can take the class in lieu of paying the ticket. I would concentrate on getting the first one fixed. I would guess that since you actually signed up to take the class, even tho you didn't make it, that this will count as taking the class and you are on a time shcedule as to whether or not this is permitted.
