my friend anthony is 12 and the other day he got punched by an 18 year old and the guy spent an hour in jail and then got let out, does that seem right i mean tony had a concussion.

No ,it does seem wrong to me, but since he was 18 ,he no longer qualified for a long term in a Juvenile Facility. The Prisons are overcrowded and they let people out who are a menace to society, the father of your friend can bring a civil suit against this person and win a financial judgment against him. The incident must be documented with all available paperwork, the Police Report, Medical treatment. I hope his parents take the creep who did this to your friend to civil court, also it is important that they show up for the guys trial, he is probably out on bond. The fact he got out does not mean he will not have to go back to a trial, or that he may not be arrested latter after an investigation.
Also anthonys parents need to be sure and press charges |

Maybe he only got out of jail because someone bailed him out. He may still have to go to court for a trial. If he spent time in jail it is self-evident that he was arrested by the police and they should be investigating it. |

the eightteen yrs old still has to go to court to face charges of hitting a minor, unless the minors parents didn't press charges. then here in virginia the commonwealth would pick it up and press them anyway. |

No it's not right and the 18 year old better be glad I am not Tony's mom or else he'd find his butt kicked good and proper. I know teens hae a tendency to smart talk others but punching a minor is not a good idea ever. |
