ok. so last night a guy and his wife were arguing and i decided to record some of the things he said. he said "if you said youre tired of a drunk that hits you what are you waiting for?"
if the wife wanted to call the cops on him could this recording prove that the guy has hit her in the past?? oh and once a long time ago she actually did call the cops on him so...

i'd say it would count as evidence against him and it would help alot against him and it would suggest that he has hit her before |

Possibly. But you most likely want to confront her with the evidence before you do anything on your own. But some people are scared to report
these things on their own. And its also illegal to record other people's conversations without their consent. So be discreet. |

DA's always fine some way to pick apart evidence so thats one answer. But you would also be doing your neighbor by notifying your local police station. Or if they have a tip line use it. |

Could be a partial conversation (Taken for context not content) of her egging him on, or taunting him to do something, or daring him to hit her, no actual proof he did anything yet.
Best evidence is he has done this before and has a call into police as a DV case on record. |
