Dog the bounty hunter- A respected bounty hunter or Hyped by his once popular tv show?

I think that Dog is a respected bounty hunter (thats the reason he got his show). In reference to the firearm thing. Dog likes to claim that he "chooses" not to carry one and enjoys complaining about bounty hunters that do carry.

Dog is not legally able to possess a firearm in the United States due to being convicted of murder in Texas.

I personally think that the threat of armed criminals is significant enough that people involved with their apprehension, should be armed. I think that it is completely insane that in the United Kingdom, law enforcement officers are not armed as a matter of routine.

Definitely over hyped. He is not as respected as you think, he is very much viewed as showing the bad side of Hawaii that the tourism board would rather not be shown. As for the weapons, he's a convicted felon and not eligible to own or posses a firearm. Besides, he's very much conceited person, have met them in person, they charge 30 bucks for a t-shirt before they'll give autographs.

I think the show is a lot of drama. Though he is a good example of someone who was it deep sh!t and turned his life around,and made good for himself and his family. You got to give him that. Oh and he can't own a gun he's a convicted felon.

I think he's very much over hyped by his TV show.
I also see another issue with him that I can even see in your own question. You say you lost respect for him when he used a racial term. I am not trying to personally attack you with this answer. I'm not sure that you even knew he was a convicted murderer.
However, when society "loses respect" for a convicted murderer because he used a racial term, then something is very wrong with society as a whole to begin with.
How have we ever gotten to the point where someone is considered to be a respected person after killing another innocent human being, but everyone loses respect for the same person when he uses a word that offends someone.
This shows that we, as a society, value human life far less than we value simple feelings like anger over what someone says that we don't like.
Personally, I'd prefer to have my feelings hurt and be alive, than to be murdered. And believe me, I have had plenty of bad things said about and to me in my life, but you just have to get over it and move on. Most people don't know how to do that anymore.

He collects money for bodies for gods sake , what do you expect him to be , He and his entourage may pray to god evey job but he deals in misery and reward for such . Not a job for the god fearing mortal.

Bounty hunters are no better than the criminals they are chasing.I have no respect for them at all.

Dog is not a respected bailbondsman. Actual bail bondsmen do not like his tactics in going wherever and doing whatever he wants in order to arrest the fugitives.

if he can only legally be a bounty hunter in his home state and in Colorado why wasnt he arrested for kidnapping when he brought that luster guy back from mexico?
