Doing 119 KM In 70 Zone , And Got Ticket For 360$ And Lost Points , And I Might Get Suspended For 60 Days?

Ok yesterday I was doing 119 KM in 70 zone , and I got pulled over and he gave me ticket for 360$ and lost 4 point on my driving license . I already had lost 6 points before due to speeding too .
So in total I have 10 points on my record which mean I have to lose my license for 60 days .
Do you think if I go to the court and talk to them , the judge will help me out ?
I mean I would pay money but any how the judge can reduce my speed till the level where I lose like 2 points instead of 4 so I'd have 8 points on my record , so I don't get it suspended ?
Cz 9 points I will get it suspended for 60 days .

I did learn my lesson , but yesterday some cab driver out of no where cut me off and make a hard stop in front of me which could've caused an accedint so I speeded up to talk to the cab , obviously I got caught and he did not

49km over the posted limit? What speed were you ACTUALLY doing?
It sounds to me like the officer cut you a break to keep you under 50km/h (already saving you two points right there). Asking the justice for a deal he is going to KNOW what the actual speed was and what the ticketed speed was. I doubt you're going to get a huge break on this.
Exceeding the speed limit by 50km/h or more is 6 points, exceeding the speed limit 30-49km/h is 4 points, exceeding the speed limit by 16-29km/h is 3 points. There is NO way you are going to get this ticket reduced to less than 30km/h over the limit and definately no way they will drop it below 16km/h so the minimum number of points you are getting on this ticket is 3.
Your licence is about to be suspended. The only way out is if you can beat the ticket, and the odds of that are unlikely.
You can contact a POINTS type defender, but they usually just ask the crown for a reduction and don't often actually "fight" the ticket. Additionally your defence of "just trying to catch the cab" is going to cut no ice with the justice, so I'd forget about using it as an excuse or explanation.
Good luck, but I'd get ready to rely on public transit for the next few months. |
