Don't you think is it odd that the country with most CCTVs has got the highest mumber of burgleries?

No, the number or CCTV cameras is a response to the high number of burgleries.

No its not odd. The burgalries (and other anti social crimes) were there before the CCTV, which is a reaction to the crimes.

Its quite obvious really.

The cameras are there to monitor traffic and help solve the binge drinking violence in city centres. They do nothing to prevent crime and suburbs and rural areas.

We/Britain needs to solve one problem before it can divert resources to solve the many others. We are pretty much stuffed, as the government have not got the guts to deal with real issues, in case it makes them unpopular. Like putting alcohol and cigs price up loads.

A lot of them are decoys as I recently found out. My car (parked in range of 3 CCTV cameras in a pub car park) was recently broken into with 6 other cars. The pub manager explained that the cameras were 'just decoys'. These things were huge and must've cost a fortune to put up anyway...the decoys don't work obviosly. Have since found out that pub has the biggest problem with car theft or theft from cars in the whole of Hertfordshire!

I like the way the do it in the Philipines, you don't see that many cameras. I think they worked out that cameras don't protect assets.

All business use the same rule, whether it be a takeaway shop or a bank.

If there is something of value inside, they put guy on the door with a shotgun.

If there is something of real value inside, they they put two guys on the door with shotguns.

If there is something really, really valueable inside, they put two guys on the door with shotguns (and they are wearing bullet proof vests) and inside is at least one guy with an AK47 or a rusty H&K MP 5 and some of the staff have pistols. I could see robberies could get very messy.

Australia does not have that big of a gun culture so it is a bit of shock at first. (Only the police, and ofcourse the criminals have guns here). I almost fell over when we went to the hotels casino and at the door is the gun check, it was full of revolvers and autos.

and the highest number focus'd on cars, but not cars stolen. They dont make money for the police as burglaries dont. And where would they be without the bonus's they get from them

No, that is not odd at all. I don't know which country you are refering to , but people probably put in CCTVs BECAUSE there are a lot of burgleries.

not surprised at all, the government need burglars in order to create a big brother society, they use the law breaker as a tatic
, or an excuse to spy on everybody treating the whole nation like criminals, and thats the best way to wind up the british to suchan extent that they couldnt give a hoot about the law, especialy when we know that the leaders are as bent as a nine bob note. in order to keep spying on us they have to keep the robbers so they can justifie thair reason for spying on everybody.

Not odd, no, they are usually sited in the wrong place and anyway, the little thugs wear "Hoodies" anyway, don't you think that the powers that be should have thought of that one! Most "planners" don't live in the "Real" world!

I don't find it odd, it's Britain after all. Nothing surprises me about the back to front way of life here anymore.
