My boyfriend just turned 21 and has yet to get a drivers license. He will need to get a permit before he can get the license, and I am only 19. Is he allowed to drive with me in the car since I am under 21?
Additional Details
I am in Colorado and have had my license for 3 years. Also his parents are not around to "teach" him how to drive...which is the reason for his delay in getting a license.

No. Since he does not have a license, he can't drive you anywhere or even be in a moving car with you. If he gets pulled over and you don't show that you are 21 he gets into trouble. Either have one of his parents in the car, or just wait until he gets his license. |

He's not allowed to GET CAUGHT with you in the car. If you are confident with his driving skills, you should not be afraid of riding in his car (teehee) even if he doesn't have a license. |

Your age isn't as relevant as the type of license you have. If you have a full adult license, then you can be the licensed driver in the car while he has a permit. |

It depends on what state you're in. If you have had your license for less than 5 years, which considering you're only 19, then that's a no ha. Hope it helped :) |

Do you have your license? If you do then it's fine. If you have a learner's permit you have to always drive with someone who is 21 or over and has a license.

I don't believe so, and I think the person older than 21 has to of had they're drivers license for 3 years, or at least that's what my drivers book says |

i don't think so because once you get your permit, you can noly drive with an experienced driver who has had there license for 3 years. so i guess it depends on what state your from and when you got your license |
