Not possible to tell you what it will cost to get your car back without knowing which agency towed it and which tow company has it. Just call the police and ask what they will charge to release the vehicle. Then call the tow company that has it and ask them.

DUI's are really expensive... They can cost anywhere from $7,000 - $10,000 +. To get your car back from the tow yard will run you about $1,500 (Considering that you have to leave it there for 30 days), and YES, you have to come up with this money right away. Other fees will include DUI fine ($1,500), attorney fees, DUI classes/programs, court filing fees, court hearing fees, ect. I hope this helps. Good Luck with everything. As far as this second offense goes, I have no idea if the court/judge will hold that against you. I guess it's really up to his discretion and what mood he's in.

According to California law, you won't be considered a first time offender since you have a prior. The good news is that since it was over 10 years ago, the penalty will not be as severe if it was in a 10 year period. It also depends on the BAC that you received and any other charges you may be facing.

If you are convicted of a DUI you can face different kinds of sentences from suspension to a probationary period. It is highly unlikely that you will see jail time since it has been over 10 years but again it depends on your case. If the police towed your vehicle you will have to contact the law enforcement agency that towed it and ask them how you can get it back and more than likely you will have to fork over the cash at the time.

You need to consult with a DUI attorney in California and explain your case to counsel. You will have to go to court and go through the justice system so in the mean time your best option is to seek counsel.
