In the days of the old west almost everyone was armed. If you read the true history of the west and forget about the TV You will find in the old cow towns the people were much safer in then they are today in many of the cities |

No. But if all law-abiding non-felon, non-mentally ill adult citizens were allowed the option to legally carry guns without restriction, we might be safer. |

A free society works best when the criminals don't know who is armed! |

I think we would be safer then we are now that's for sure. |

If by everyone, you mean all law-abiding people without a criminal background or history of mental problems, yes. |

Just keep them from felons and mentally challenged folks and watch the crime drop. |

I don't know about everybody but I know I would. |

A lot safer than if only criminals had them. |

Yes we would be safer as long as you could shot some one like they did in the old west. |

Imagine if we let people who are mentally ill have guns and carry them down the street...mass shootings would pop up everywhere...however, then the other people could kill the person shooting...HMMMM |

That is a scary thought. I am a strong supporter of our right to bare arms, but it would be bad if background checks weren't run on people. Even still we are missing a lot of lunatics. |

no cuz people would carelessly shoot them. |

no...there are just too many people who have no concept of humanity. |

No. Think about it like this: if every country had the nuclear bomb, would we be safer?
Fights will always happen, and there will always be situations where people lose their self-control. Far better if they don't have the capacity to kill easily concealed on their person. |

Uuuuhh... No. Think of all the psych maniacs out there that want to kill everybody that looks at them. |
|

Bumtastick

no because everybody has instincs
and as a humanbeing when you fell threaten you atomaticle think to protect yourself and if a guns at reaching point thats the first thing your gonna reach for.
it will just lead to ether of these two
alot of people getting killed
and
alot of people going to jail
because selfdefence dosent appliy if you kill the attacker unless you have a wittness wich might not even hold up in court. |

everybody would be a lot deader. Guns don't kill people. People with guns kill people. 'nuff said |
|

Drew

Of course not. Just think of how many fist fights there are amongst young men. A large number of these could easily be escalated by the presence of weapons. Also, with the prevalance of alchohol in our culture, you are just asking for trouble if everyone had a weapon. Also, controversial people would scarcely stand a chance if it were standard protocol for everyone to have a weapon since the presence of a weapon itself would cease to be an alarm to law enforcement. |

i agree with the first person to post. we'd all be dead in a week. |

no becuase we have alot of people theses days that are crazy and also very irresponsible...if eveybody did probably most of every body will be dead |

It didnt work in the Wild West in the 1860's. That is why laws were made. If everbody could carry a gun then I would own a mortuary. |

 |
No, little kids would randomly shoot and kill some people others would shoot when they were mad everyone would where a metal coat and bullets would bounce off and kill you and police would shoot robbers and people would kill teachers at school, NOT A GOOD THING and again NOOO! |
|

Help my head's stuck!
|
No this is a misconception that people have. If you look at statistics, those who are victims of gun violence are also exponentially more likely to be shot with them. Now you're probably going to fire back high profile events like Columbine or Virginia Tech...but its the flip side too, if guns weren't so easy to obtain maybe those would have been prevented as well.
Bottom line? You're more likely to be safer if you don't have a gun then if you do. |

|
i would say no. Because although people may feel safer. All the Inmatture people would shoot anyone who gets in the way. The crime rate would probably go up. I dont liike the thought of that. |
