What is the rule with cops and facial hair? If I was a cop and wanted a goat-tee would I be able to have one? What if I wanted a 5 o'clock shadow look?

Like yogi said. Every department has their own policy. Our department allowed mustaches as long as they were trimmed to be no longer than the corner of your upper lip. Although if they were trimmed neatly, you could get by with it being a little longer. Beards of any kind are usually not allowed. But again, some departments do allow them. I tend to look at officers from other departments whenever there is some type of gathering of multiple agencies. Officers with no facial hair, except those with a neat mustache, look much more professional and will gain more respect from the public. |

Im pretty sure most PD's share same policy, you can have MUSTACHE (sorry if spelled wrong) but it has to be trimmed and neat, no other facial permitted, unless your undercover, police is paramilitary and thats the policy in military, but like the other said every dept may have own policy |
