Flying with a warrant...?

I think I might have a warrant for a speeding ticket in Texas. I am planning on flying to Dallas from Houston. Will they stop me from doing so at the airport if I do have a warrant?

Anything is possible, but I have never had anyone at an airport check my police record when I fly. If you were wanted for murder, maybe there would be a flag on your license, but hell, darlin, you're in Texas. Shoot , if they checked everyone for speeding tickets, all them good ol' boys would have to walk. |

I doubt it. A speeding ticket...probably have a bench warrant, if anything. It's not like there's a warrant and the police are actively trying to apprehend you, as they would do in a criminal matter.
You probably didn't show up for court, or didn't pay your fines like you were supposed to...they issued a bench warrant and you have to go to court or pay the fines.
I had a bench warrant for a non-criminal situation and I was able to leave the country. It came up, and they asked me about it..i explained it and they let me through..two times (Canada).
For your situation, i'm sure you'll be fine. |

It is possible, if they run your name through a computer system and the warrant pops up. Then they will stop and arrest you. Otherwise, if you don't have a warrant, or your name isn't run through a system, you won't have anything happen.
I would advise you, however, to find out whether there is a warrant. This is why we pay speeding tickets. |
