my friend will call "jane doe" was raped when she was real young by a family member, they got said family member locked up but the church he was with got him out by saying he was a changed man and didnt mean to do it.well said family members daughter has been threatning my friend and told one her best friends the otehr nite at the club that if she showed up there shed kill her and everything.well my friends mom is worried abt them hurting my friend and her and wants a restraining order against them BUT they aint got no pysical evidence of the threats besides the accounts of my friend and her best friend,can they get a restraining order with that or do they need actual physical proof like a recording or txt messages?

The evidence must be sufficient to convince a judge that your friend is danger from imminent threat of death or serious bodily harm.

Idle threats usually don't qualify without actions that support the threats, ie, stalking, direct face to face threatening, direct incessant harassing by phone calls, or some other form of violence.
