E-mail ID – khalidaddress@yahoo.com Steps to reduce traffic mess 1 – Footpath Thousands of people walk on footpath but at present you find footpath is covered with petty shop owners and venders, which occupies the space and force the people to walk on road making less or no space for vehicle movement. Solution – The vendors should not be allowed to display their goods on foot pat even in residential areas as well. Vehicles should not be allowed to park on foot paths. Trees and lamp post has to be moved on the corner. 2 – Subway There is less subway or flyover in the crowded places for the public to cross the road. Solution – Constructing subway and flyovers in required places and making it compulsory for the people to use it. 3 – Buses *More number of people is shifting towards getting their own vehicle reason behind this is public transport has become costlier and no frequent services. *Bus drivers do rash driving and many bus drivers never park their buses on the side of bus stop. *Many bus stops do not have proper parking and exit facility. Solution - Get number of buses on road like (introducing mini bus for short routes) and make the ticket fair more affordable for the general public. *The bus drivers who are not following the rule have to punish strictly. There should be a curve provided near bus stops so that buses can be stop at the corner making the traffic to flow freely. Private or Government buses should allow the passenger to get down only at the bus stop and buses have to be moved in time. *There has to be planned bus stops where buses can move in and out easily without affecting the traffic. Kindly the 4 – Parking *We have seen enormous increase in the number of vehicles and there is less facility to park the vehicles in crowded places. People have to park at road side which increases the pain in traffic flow. *In market places we find lot traffic jam because the vehicle is parked in the corner. Solution- There should be proper parking facility in crowded area and it has to be made compulsory to park the vehicle in parking places. *Parking has to been in crowded places people need to walk or ride bicycle. 5 – Signal Extending the road is not the best solution to decrease the traffic. The best solution is to reduce the number of signals. Solution – Introduce foreign system to run signal free traffic. 6 – Loading and Unloading of goods lorry. The goods vehicle has to be allowed loading and unloading only at morning time.
