Well, I work at a nursing home and they hired me when i had one misdemeanor on my record. And just recently i was arrested for another misdemeanor. I haven't been sentenced yet but im worried that when it is on my record, i might lose my job. Does anyone know anything about this? is every nursing home different with how peoples records are whether they'll hire em, or fire them? should i ask my boss? he knows i went to jail but he didnt say anything to me about it.

I've worked at nursing homes for most of my working life. None of them would have hired you with the first charge on your record let alone a second charge.
Probably depends on what you got the charges for and how desperate your nursing home is for help. Drugs or assault should get you fired. If you are a CNA,you can lose your certification.
Most nursing homes do not want people with a criminal record working around senior citizens. |

I do not know if you are an RN, LPN or PCP? What state your in, but; many agencies will not hire a person to work in a facility with a record.
Many states on their registration to work license each year ask about a conviction or record and that can in some states cause a license to be revoked. |

probably should ask him about it, but if you signed a contract to work there, I am sure there is a clause in there that will lead to your termination. If you are an at-will employee, I am sure the nursing home isn't going to want you dealing or being around any people with a criminal record.
Try staying out of trouble, and these aren't things you have to worry about. |
