Just wondering in handcuffing. How should I handcuff male suspects? and how should I handcuff female suspects, In most cases the female suspects are smaller and the male are bigger, and more aggressive

Hello Shane. I strongly suggest you check with your superiors in loss prevention on this issue. I also work loss prevention ( part time) and we are definitely NOT indemnified by the company for false imprisonment charges that would be levied if I cuffed someone.
In situations where I have asked persons to return into the store with me so we could talk and they ran, I simply followed at a safe distance and took down their plate number as they jumped in their car and drove away. I then called local police to pick them up and do a formal arrest.
To answer your specific question however, you always cuff from the back. This provides maximum safety for you. But I strongly suggest checking out if you are listed as security personnel and the store will cover you for civil charges of false imprisonment. If they hem and haw, then don't do it. I don't even carry cuffs when working in this capacity.
