No. You can be arrested without a warrant as long as you are in a public place.
BTW, your front porch, or your doorway of your house counts as a public place. Officers do not need a warrant to arrest you there either... Even if they start to arrest you and you escape into your house, they can come in and get you, since the arrest began in a public place.
the best bet is to not do anything that could get you arrested. |

No. Church buildings and grounds only give you sancutary from vampires and demons. |

No, in the US the cops can go in and get you. Sometimes they may wait for you to come out but the law will allow them to come and get you. |

no that's not true, all criminals would be in a church otherwise, that's just to stop vampires, hope that helps all the best, that did happen many many years ago, a church was a sanctuary |

Only the illegal aliens have that RIGHT.
The rest of us will be dragged out of the church with handcuffs on.... |

No, if this were true, all criminals have to do is to enter a church, and they cannot be hauled off. |

Must be what the people in the Middle East & the illegal alians in the US think, but there isn't any basis in law. |

In the UK the answer is a most definitely not. If you commit an offence in a church or in its grounds you can be dealt with exactly the same...... and rightly so!!!!! The church needs protection from the criminal just like everyone else!!!!! |

Waaaaaaaaay before any Mec-Skin was newsworthy and violating your right to pick your own lettuce, the Catholic Church established the tenet of SANCTUARY. It is respected in Vatican City which is geographically in Rome and for the most part in most parts of the world that allows for religious severance from state. It is not LEGALLY supported anymore EXCEPT for Vatican City. |

No, it's more a matter of respect than law - respect especially for a church that has a lot of influence and power in the community.
The links below point to an incident here in Milwaukee where out-of-control police officers actually beat on members of the church who had the gall to ask for their names and/or badge numbers after the officers had beat on a man who had run into the church for protection while services were ongoing - the chased man had apparently done nothing more than look suspicious (ie., he was Black). |

The house of God is not a sanctuary for any evil person. They may go to beg forgiveness, but then leave to face their fellow man. That's a bit sh!t, isn't it? |

In the uk it used to be that way but not any more police can arrest you anywhere if you have commited a crime or they suspect that you have. |

the alien lady in Chicago did from ICE agents, so i guess it depends on which cops you are running from!!! |

No law of Sanctuary anymore. |

You're thinking of Medieval "Sanctuary" policies that, to the best of my knowledge, were never used in the United States, and died out in Europe a few HUNDRED years ago.
There might be some similar policies in a few Muslim areas, but that will only be in places where religious law is pretty much fused with secular law, and all it would REALLY mean is the religious courts will deal with you instead of the secular. |

No protection from the law except a thick wooden door to delay them getting in. |
