Note to How Dare you: I have submitted an abuse report to Yahoo Team based on your insults to me and other participants. After a cursory review of the content of some of the topics of your answers and the specifics of those answers, I specifically said:" Examination of this person's Answer History is problematic as he frequently resorts to demeaning insults rather than giving answers to the Q asked, as in this case! I also noted you don't make your email available for private remarks to your posts. Your presence in this forum is not very constructive esp since you focus on prurient Q's that you or anyone decent should and would not Answer.

ive been in a riot after a slayer concert and the riot gear cops were way too pumped up- this was pre rodney king, mind you- and they just started attacking anyone nearby anyone, and noone was doing a thing violent.

Yes

Cops need bar-codes so they can be recognized on film after the fact.

When a wall of cops dressed like Ninjas start clubbing people they are above the law and operate with impunity. Identifying bar-code patches that can trace offenders, is a good method of keeping rogue cops from beating citizens for recreation.

I've had my arm twisted by a cop for no reason... I was walking home from high school, a block away from my house when I was stopped, had my arm twisted behind my back and body forced onto the hood of the car. The cop wanted to know why I was walking toward a middle school, said I looked suspicious and was too big to be in Jr. high.... he twisted my arm so hard I thought it was going to pop out of my socket, and the truth was that my house was across the street from the Jr. high school... I was just going home.

If something like that could happen so randomly, I believe cops can easily cross the line.

Another time a friend of mine was beaten by the police so badly his skull was fractured, he almost died. When the ambulance took him away the paramedics covered him so no one would see how badly he was beaten... all his neighbors thought he was dead when they took him away. All of it had started because a cop driving by saw him outside of his house at about 2 am and he "looked" suspicious because he was white in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood. When the cop asked him were he lived he raised his arm and pointed at his house.... the cop later claimed that he interpreted my friends action as an attempt to strike him and that he was acting in self defense when he beat my friend. To add insult to injury, my friend was charged and convicted of assault on a peace officer! The cops on the day following the assault on my friend, went around the neighborhood and told all the witnesses the police version of what happened and effectively intimidated anyone from stepping up and being a witness at my friends court hearing. The cops in that part of town are notorious for their violence... unfortunately everyone is too scared to do anything about it. The FBI wanted to press charges against the cops for something akin to denial of civil rights, but my friend was too scared of the cops to follow up with the FBI investigation and they weren't able to go after those cops who beat him.

I've also been stopped for no reason and had my car searched by police on several occasions. Their apparent probable cause was that I looked suspicious. Apparently being a minority and driving a car is suspicion enough.

the answer to your question is: i dislike cops so dont think i am siding with law enforcement but police have to mute a crowd BEFORE the violence happens. look at you already complaining even though there was no violence. but if there was violence then i am sure you would be complaining about that too. better you get offended and a few people get gassed than a full scale riot break out and people get killed. and as far as your abuse rant: look man you sound like an adult but you cry like a baby. you spent how many mins/hours researching this guys answers and reporting it to yahoo right? and it will take this guy 30 seconds to create another yahoo ID then get right back to his old tricks. so who wasted time? you did. if you are an adult then you should already know the best way to get at the abusive person is to ignore them. i mean it is only text on a computer monitor if you are that sensitive then you would have great difficulty living life in the realworld. toughen up, smarten up. learn this lesson now and the rest of your life will be better for it

if the people protesting are failing to obey the lawful orders of the police, and not complying with orders they are then resisting arrest. And tear gas, or high pressure water is some non lethal ways to control a crowd.

yes ,I see that in December 1989 in Brasov, Romania, when the communist regime fall

Seattle Police Department
WT0 Riot

I wasn't there but I saw footage of it. If police want to vent their frustrations at their own inadequacy as a human being on people who pose a serious threat to them or others that's one thing, but beating and gassing people just because they are unwittingly in the wrong place at the wrong time is just downright inhumane and completely unacceptable.

Nope never seen a protest (except on TV) but I do like the idea of putting bar codes on cops. HAHA.. :-)

Its called crowd control. If you don't start with a show of force the protests tend to turn to riots then sometimes deadly force is needed.
