Have you ever known a 15/16 year old .. going out in a car driving illegaly?

Why, yes, I have.

And not only that, I've known of several fourteen-year-olds who went out in cars driving LEGALLY.

That was before Idaho raised its drinking from nineteen to twenty-one and raised its driving age from fourteen to sixteen coerced by Congress because of being such a bad example to all the fourteenieboppers in other states who would then go out and drive illegally, and because of not being trained, because of not being old enough for training, would go out and crash into things and hurt and kill people.

Before then, Idaho had the safest roads in the west as far as teenage collisions were concerned. Since then, Idaho's teenage drivers have become just as accident prone as the rest of the country.

As usual, here in Amerika, we just plain cannot settle for safer, or for better, we have to settle for whaterver happens to be more popular.

I recollect a 16 year old friend of mine ,some 49 years ago, borrowing his father's car each Thursday night when he was playing Bridge and he was only caught when a local policeman happened to ask my friend's father when his son had passed his test.

Yeah. The 16 year old only had a learner's permit and one day he decided to go driving without a licensed driver. He died in a car accident that day. It is not joke.

Unfortunatley yes! i live in a village in the uk where driving starts as young as fouteen,this is a terrible problem because our village only has one road in and out of it.But i will compliment our local police they work very hard and catch many,but because the laws are so loose in this country they can just go out and buy another scap car and be back on the road in a few days.They seem too think they are invincible,but sadly there may come a day when they have a death on there conciense or there own lives end premeturley,it is both sad and scary.I just pray my own kids have more sense

Yes a neighbour's Son does it on a regular basis and even thought it has been reported to the Police no action has been taken.

yep. my friend in Ireland used to do it YEARS ago..

but I know people who pass on their 17th birthday, how they do it is , if you drive on private land (your own) it's not an issue obviously with supervision. but obviously it's easier for people with farms or a massive bit of land.. not the public highway

but it's STUPID to go out on a public road un insuranced etc..

I pay a premium on my insurance due to such idiots.. so I'm not happy about that.

At least 3 night a week I get these morons.

Its so funny to me, and embarrassing to them, when mommy an daddy have to come pick them up in front of their friends and girlfriends.

Oh ya, and they can't get licenses until they're 18 now.

Only on privately own land. Not on public highways.

I knew a girl who had been driving since she was twelve due to the fact her family had a lot of land where the kids could all practice. This is legal apparantly.

Yes, I was 15 when I got me learners permit. And on my 16th birthday I drove home from the DMV with my license.

I watched a pro gramme called "Road Wars" on Bravo the other day and a 13 year old has stolen a Ford Transit Van and was racing it down a main road!!

i did that when i was young i highly do not reccomend it !, i borrowed?i stole! the car from our garage coz i had to go discoing , and to be sure no one awakens i even drugged them with some drops of valium.not very clever. i didn't got caught that day but afterwards my aunt found out,i got punished heavily punished.in fact i was banned to drive until i was 28 even though i had my license at 18 yrs. of age. just dont do this guys!!

I was that person now 35 learned the hard way and would not recommend anyone of that age to be as foolish as i was.

Just for the record i did not kill, run over or hit anyone.
Still i was a fool for doing it and i see the error of my ways now im older and wiser
