Yes I have been a victim of crime as some idiot lads threw fire crackers into my room, tho luckily they didnt go off and we never found those lads!
Tho my little sister has a been a victim a couple of times, which angers me so much because it was physical abuse and one I cant go into but the other time was when a group of lads started following her and giving her abuse then when she reached her bf, the group of lads beat him up so bad he had to go into hospital cos he got involved to save my sister from the lads. So he was unable to go back to work for a month. Were the group of lads convicted? Well a couple were and they had to pay a petty fee! No I don't feel that was justice at all! |

Yes.
Someone broke into my car and left trace evidence of the implement they used to do it but not enough evidence to prove who did it.
A few weeks later I saw a known car criminal in a DIY shop appearing to buy tools for use in breaking into cars. The tools he was buying matched the ones I'd identified from the trace evidence left in my car.
I later saw him going past my house several times.
A few months after that I interviewed the same known car criminal for a different offence and was pretty certain he was responsible for breaking into my car but couldn't prove it.
How frustrating is that?!?!?!
As for the sentencing, it never fits the crime and the victim always suffers. It's a sad fact in this Country. |

Yes, somebody tried to break into my house a couple of years ago. and last year my husbands van was broken into and he had a fair few tools taken. I know that's not me personally, but it did affect me and my son as we had to replace the tools, meaning we had to go without a few things, just so some little scroat can get a fix! |

yes. i was attacked and had bleach mixed with disinfectant sprayed in my face. noone was caught so now the case the case is closed. so i feel let down and dissapointed.
my daughter was assaulted by a guy who got a conditional discharge but i strongly feel that the sentence doesnt fit the crime in that case |

Yes, I was a victim of an assault, and no, I do not feel the punishment fit the crime. The a**hole was charged with felony third degree assault and battery, and got off with one years probation. The kicker is that he had a record as long as my arm. |

Yes I have. The purp got 5 years for what he did to me. Then 2 months ago a guy broke into my home. I was asleep. Heard it got up and found him in my kitchen all bloody. Yelled at him to get out. I could smell alcohol. Got him, called the cops, they found him. Turned out he was so wasted he meant to break into his g/f apt she was 1026 I'm 926. That case is still pending. Charged with breaking and entering. Boy what luck do I have.......BAD |

Yes I was attacked by 2 men in Cape Town, South Africa and beaten up. When it was reported to the Police they just laughed and said that as I was not in hospital I was not badly hurt and the theft of my handbag, including my house keys was not considered serious. They gave me a Report number so that I could claim my loss and the cost of complete new locks etc. on the insurance and said there was no chance they would even look for the attackers.. Apart from considerable physical injuries at the time, I took a long time to get over the Post Traumatic Stress Disease and consider that I was lucky in only being assaulted, not knifed or shot as is many the case in South Africa. As far as I know the case is still "open". |

yep. 2 men broke into my garage about 2yrs ago, and stole my dads golf clubs (quite expensive, and sentimental value). they broke the door too. i was alone in the house, and too scared to do anything (was only in pyjamas at the time too...) so as soon as they left called my dad, then the police came round. noones been caught (i saw the back of the guy and got a resonable view of the car), and the clubs were never recovered!
I hate people like that. |

I wasn't but my middle daughter and her husband were. Someone broke into their apartment and stole some stuff. It took a while for them to figure out that a book of their checks were stolen and someone had written over $500. in bad checks on their account. The bank gave them back the money and a new account and they called the police but nothing was ever done. My daughter still can't write checks at many places because it shows up that she has over $500. in bad checks out there.
The police came out and did a report and that was it. What amazed me the most was that most of the checks were for about $100. at Walmart and Walmart took the checks without asking for an I.D. |

A few months ago someone broke into my house and stole my laptop computer.
No-one was ever arrested that I know of.
My theory is that it was probably one of the construction workers we had recently hired to do some renovations and who were in and out and around the house for a few weeks pretty much every day. (The break-in happened about a week after they finished) |

A guy broke into my car. He paid restitution, did a month or two in county jail. I guess I'm okay with it. It felt like a personal violatino when it happened, but ultimately almost no harm was done... I had to change bank account numbers, and I got some cash for the nick-nacks taken. |

yes, I sent a mobile phone off for repair, I never got it back it went somewhere else, some one sighned for it and kept my phone. My network told me I had to report it to the police to get a new one. The police took the report, didn't bother to look into it at all, not even check with the delivery company where they sent the phone and who took it. waste of time, but got my replacement phone after a month of calls to o2. |
