Help! Im scared... I think I have a stalker... RIGHT NOW!! someones outside my house i think?

For about the past 4 months ive been (on and off) hearing what sounds like someone walking in the woods behind my house. Its only about 20 foot-wide wooded area... right behind an car lot (well thats basically what it is..)

* We heard what sounded like someone walking almost every night for about a week, and then one night we heard "it" cough, sounded like a man.
* When I'm up late at night i hear it (as late as 2am... maybe later but i dont stay up that late). When i hear it i stop what im doing and it stops. I figure if its an animal it would RUN, not stop.

***just a few minutes ago i was out my back porch smoking and i heard what sounded like someone walking fast, through my yard. I didnt see anyone, but i didnt look because i was too scared to.
I went out the front foor to finish the cigarette and about 30 seconds later i hear what sounds like someone coming around the side of my house (from the back where i just left..)
The i stop and back up toward the front door, then i hear MAYBE a few footsteps and a bang, like someone with boots, runs into(or accidentally kicks) something big, thin, and metal. I ran inside and called my brother. he wasnt able to give me any advice and i tried waking my fiance but im not sure what to do HELP

Okay i want to call the police but the one and only time i did...
I was working at walmart and got off at 11:30 pm and thought someone stole my car because it wasnt in its normal spot.

if you start hearing the noises again call the police. if this person is there as often as you say they are then they will be there when the police pull up. just tell the dispatcher to have the officer "black out" (turn off headlights) his car when he pulls up so the lights don't make the guy run off.

there is also the option of putting up motion detecting lights that you can get at home depot for pretty cheap. so whenever someone is near your house moving around the lights will come on and you can see who it is.

the last option (if it starts getting really bad) is putting up nightvision cameras and operating them during the night so you can look at the tape in the morning to see if someone is really out there or not. i would recommend the first two before you go and spend quite a bit of money on cameras

get a baseball bat or some kind of blunt, heavy object. Then, wait in your room. A few moments later, slam that object as hard as you can against the window...

and then, maybe...just maybe.....youll strike your pursuer.

Other viable options:

Security Cameras. Make sure they are infrared. Even fake ones will help.

Higher a security guard for a couple days.

I would call the police, tell them you saw someone if you have too.. just to get them to look, get a gun go out side with a gun you have to be18 to own a shot gun that would make anyone scared enough to leave.. god forbid there waiting for you to be alone...

ok first of all why would u want to waste time and ask yahoo answers?? but yes call the police! To them something like this is not stupid. they take calls like this very seriously and if you want u can have them check around your house and even keep watch throughout the night if you want them to. This is not something to feel stupid about. if your scared and feel like something or somebody is out there then make the call to the police thats why they are there to help.

or call the police. you don't want to look stupid in front of police? nowadays there are tons of kidnappings, murders, rapes, it's better looking silly to some police officers by being over-cautious than regretting your decision to not appear stupid in front of cops.

I WANT to say it's all in your mind and you're acting paranoid, but I don't know the area of your house and etc.

Get a dog, or call the police. One or the other before it's too late.
Or as I said earlier...you can call the justice league. Though i'm not sure what their number is...

I need not reapeat what countless others have stated. But I will anyway or ill think about it for A while. Wtf are you writing a long as question with sperate points when you think that perhaps you are in danger. I dont want to hurt your feeling hun but you sound very ignorant to the dangers of the world. dido, but if the police don't find anything: Install motion detecting lights outside, get pepper spray to carry in your purse and a can of wasp spray for your bed side table (it works like pepper spray but goes much further), and keep a journal of the activity and any evidence left behind!
