my ex-boyfriend pushed me down my stairs causing me to bruise my ankle bone and bruise my elbow bone also there was some scratches on my back, I went to the hospital and had the nurse call the cops, a cop came and filed out a report and told me the detective would get ahold of me on monday (this happened on a friday) well monday came and passed and he never called me...for the past three days i have been calling him but always get his voice mail i leave a message every time and he doesn't return my call......this person has keys to get into the building and everything and they ha vent even given me an order of protection or anything who am i suppose to turn to when the detective in the case isn't returning my calls or doing anything??

Call the non emergency number to the station and ask for the Shift Captain. Explain (briefly) what happened, that you are in fear of your life and safety and the detective has not even returned your call in three days. I will GUARANTEE someone will be at your house within a few hours at most.
It is possible that the detective involved may be out sick, which would explain the voice mail, but that is NO excuse as to why another detective is not taking his calls.
The Captain will make sure you get the order of protection you need plus the report to arrest the ex boyfriend.

incase ANYTHING happens to you and you get hurt, you can file a case against the so called "helpful" detective that said he would call you back on monday (which he never did) your proof is the amount of times you called him (the proof is on phone records) and your proof is voicemail (if he didn't delete them). If he has not called you back and you filed a case and everything and you get harmed...guess who gets his butt kicked?...not only your immature ex boyfriend, but also the detective who was negligent in returning your phone all in a serious case like this. Call the police once again and tell them you have filed this and a detective has not gotton back to you as he said he would. ALSO, file a restraining order against your boyfriend RIGHT NOW. so he can not come to the house, he can not come near you, he can't harm you and if he does, he gets in even more deep trouble. |
