Had this happened to a black ex-soldier there would have been hell to pay. The media would have had a massive party over it, and they would have demanded the jobs of all the top coppers.
But because he is only a scum white ex-soldier in their eyes, he is not wanted.
I`m sick to death of this country and it`s fecking PC-brigade nonsense. No wonder people are moving over to the BNP, they are sick of this country`s attitude towards white people. |

Our country has laws on discrimination - take them to the courts over this!
Any company could say they are not recruiting from a certain sector and be held accountable to law. |

This happens every day in every state in the U.S. A fire department in the same part of the country that I live last year had to over look people who scored higher on there tests because they need to hire a predetermined number of Hispanic, female, and African American people. They hired over 20 people and less then 40 and out of that, they needed 2 African American, 3 women, and 3 Hispanic people regaurdless of how they did in the testing process. As it turned out only 2 women passed all of the test and while one of them scored in the top 100 the other was ranked in the bottom 10% and got hired. Both African Americans who passed the test were in the top 50 but only 1 of the 5 hispanics who passed the tests were in the top 50 with the other 4 being in the bottom 10%. They hired both women, both African Americans and 3 Hispanics. I dont know about you, but if one of my family members has a medical emergency or is trapped in a fire, I could care less about what color their skin is or what their gender is, I really want the person that is the best at their job. |

The same thing happened to me, I'm 18 and white I went to an induction day for the Met but was told I could not have the application form as there is no point there not recruiting white males at present, I was very shocked and insulted.

.good question as always Philip . i wonder what would happen to the met if he reported them to the race relations. bugger-all i suspect; however if the COLOURS were reversed i bet there would be hell to pay.
also what about the (nbpa) national black police officers association is this not racist by definition. if we had a white police association it would be shut down and all concerned lambasted |

It most likely wasn't the cops calling the shots here. It was most likely the political body in power instructing them as how to proceed. Hiring someone in any job because of the color of their skin is dead wrong, and it's discrimination. |

I understand this does not only apply to the Met. but applies to other police services as well!It would appear that not only ethnic minorities are favoured but females have preference as well1 |

Same thing is happening to my fiance! He's a Marine Corps vet and he's been rejected from Corrections twice! He also learned that law enforcement is hiring less white males and more minorities and women. |

The don't want ex service people because they can think for themselves.

While I'm loathe to base an argument on the reporting of an event in the Sun, if this has happened as presented, it is unacceptable and wrong - every bit as wrong as a 'no blacks' policy.
What is acceptable is to target advertising at under-represented groups, but the selection procedure should be a level playing field. Shame on the Met, if the Sun has reported this accurately. Nonsense like this makes racial tensions worse, not better. |

This story appeared in The Sun, and therefore has to be treated with suspicion. It includes this:
The Met confirmed Ben had been refused a recruitment pack — but said that the force was not recruiting right now.
A spokeswoman added: “This is the case for everyone regardless of gender or ethnic origin.”
If the story was true, it would be blatant discrimination. |

Oh its the Sun twisting things around again!!
The force was not recruiting right now,
HOWEVER..... they are actively seeking to raise INTEREST from black and minority ethnic communities and females..
So even if someone from these groups applied they would have been told the same!!
Its the same as a workplace only employing a female in a female nursing home, its because thats what they want.
This force obviously needs black and minority ethnic officers to build relationships with these communities etc.
Its just the News stirring things as per normal. |
