Hey I'm 15 and i live in Montreal and i was wondering if i have a criminal record? I was caught stealing at Wal-mart bu some undercover dude then he called the police and me and my friend were driven home but nothing happened after that. before they brought us home we did give them our info but they didn't press charges. please I need to know cus I want a job and need to know if i need to but criminal record on my cv.... :( :(

To have a criminal record, you must be formally charged, and found (or plead) guilty before a judge. That did not happen, so you do not have an official record.
I would expect the Wal-Mart has your information, and I would not be surprised if the Montreal Police did. Next time, they will not be so kind to you! But, you can apply, stating you have no record. However, a prospective employer might ask if you have even been in trouble with the law, which you will have to answer truthfully. Just hope it does not come up! |
