No they cannot take you to jail. If it was tabacco they would probably just confiscate it - if they were an ***. They cannot legally arrest you for smoking legal herbs. They should be able to smell the difference between weed and whatever else it is. |

Well, in Washington it is illegal for minors to purchase tobacco products if that's what you're referring to. If you're smoking something RESEMBLING but that IS NOT actually marijuana... they could still book you for posession, etc. until the lab results came back that it was not marijuana. |

I know it is great fun at your age to try and get attention from law enforcement whenver possible. It is also great fun to try and get the cops in trouble because you think you are on firm legal ground.
Depending on where you are you can be charged with poss. tobacco products or other materials used for smoking and be required to appear in court. Our judge used to give kids the option of wearing signs that said "smoking is dangerous to your legal health also," outside schools.
If you want attention so badly, why not get it in a positive way by excelling in sports or scholastic achievements. I know it's more work than being a slacker, but it does pay off in the end. |

Actually, I think that they can take you to jail. It's against the law for people under 18 years old to purchase cigarettes. |

Yes they can!
Specially if you are smoking in a drug free are, such as :
school zone,parks and playgrounds.
But no JUVENILE shall be kept at the police station for more then 6 hours.

I'm 55 years old and learned long ago cops can do anything they want.....you may get free with not much problem but ''as they say''''this will go on you permanent record. |
