Hit and Run charge, help!!!!?

I was driving home from school, I see a lady who doesn't move her Lexus GS350 and I wait for 3-4 seconds and I overtake her going under 10 mph. Then all of a sudden she made a left turn and she hit me. I have an anxiety disorder issue and I was scared to death, I did not know what to do and I drove away and went home. She chased me and I was literally scared to death so I tried to find a place to hide.
That didn't work out and I finally pulled over. Cops did come at the end, the lady did have some blood pressure issue, so did I (mine went up to 156/102) then came down drastically. I did recieve a citation from the cops saying that it was my fault, I failed to stop for an accident.
I do have a medical condition (ADD/ADHD) if that will play any factor.

This was my first offense BTW and I am 18 years old.

What type of a misdemeanor charge do you think this will be?

With all that said, can someone please explain what will happen to me in court?

If you were the Judge what would you do?

Is there any way where I can erase this from my records? (VERY IMPORTANT I NEED TO KNOW THIS)

Since my criminal records are clean, I have never done anything bad in my community, will I have to go to jail for this? (I live in Charlotte NC if that helps at all)

How long will my license be revoked?

Please help me, any opinion is very welcome. Appreciate your help

Your ADD/ADHD/ABCD is NOT going to help you in this situation. lol
Also, hit and run is NOT misdemeanor, it is a felony.

If you want to keep this off your record, you definitely need a lawyer (and even then it may not be possible). Also, if it is a felony charge, you should consider voluntarily surrendering your driver's license to show that you realize that at present you are not in the best condition to drive. That could go a long way toward convincing the prosecutor not to charge you, or to charge you with a lesser offense that can come off your record.

You are probably looking at a felony, not a misdemeanor. It will go on your record on conviction, no way to prevent it.

If I were the judge and you tried using ADD/ADHD or an anxiety disorder as an excuse for not stopping at the scene of the crash? Be happy that I'm not the judge!

Full customary fines and probation, license revoked for the maximum allowed period of time (varies from state to state, never cheap!). Requirement for a full medical and psychiatric workup before your license is restored, to make sure that you are not medically disqualified from holding a license.

You need a lawyer, no way around it. You need a much better story than the one you told here, bringing question to your competence as a driver is not a good strategy! This will most likely be a very expensive lapse in judgment even with a lawyer.

You already know what you were charged with: you got the tickets.

The charges are traffic offenses, not crimes. It sounds to me as if the accident was her fault, not yours, but because you left the scene you made it impossible for the officers to find out what happened.

I don't know whether you will lose your license; it depends on the law where you live. Leaving the scene is the more serious charge, and you need to find out whether that carries a mandatory license suspension.

If I were the judge, I would sternly tell you that you had no right to leave the scene, and that you prevented the officers from investigating what happened. I would give you a fairly substantial fine to make sure you and others know it isn't OK to leave the scene of an accident. If someone had been hurt, you might have been looking at criminal charges.

Generally speaking, traffic offenses have to stay on your record. But because they aren't crimes, you don't have to worry about their effect on your future (except for your insurance rates!)

Next time, STOP. This would have been a lot less stressful for you if you had done that in the first place.

Frankly ADD/ADHD will not be a get-out-off-jail free card for a hit and run because they would wonder why you aren't taking medication for it to control your condition. Indeed you are facing a felony charge here and will have your license suspended.

Get a lawyer as soon as possible and wish for the best.
