First of all, get a STAR from me. Interesting question, no doubt. At your age, i.e. at 11, my daughter showed her interest to become an army officer! I did encourage her but unfortunately, there were no provisions for the girls to be an army person at that time. So I assured her that I might send her to our relatives in UK or USA. Luckily, at her age of 16, our country started to recruit girls for army! I gave her courage but my wife refused because to her "to be an army" it was a 'risky' job to her daughter! Somehow I won (including my daughter's strong will-force). And you know, she's now a captain & working with full prestige with the Govt. force. So, I would request you to keep your wish with you strongly. It's GOOD to be a fire-fighter & it's an adventurous job with an honest motto towards humanities. Please know the exact guidelines & ways to be a fire-fighter & be so. My blessings will be with you, darling.

DEAD DAD'S DEED
I do not know the ways how to get in the job but I tell you, it all depends on how strong your nerves are. Most of all, there should be a strong INTENTION of being a fire-fighter inside you. Good luck. We need you, seriously.

here are a few websites that may be of help to you. My late father was a fire fighter for 27yrs - don't worry he didn't die on the job. good luck to you in following your dream career

Nikhilesh My Friend
NOTHING is hard, I tell you. Nikhilesh, my friend is angry upon the other answerer who discouraged you due to hard work or something like that. Nikhilesh praised your attitude to wish so, i.e. to be a fire-fighter woman. I do support Nikhilesh, i.e. you. You're our pride to show such attitude. But Nikhilesh, my friend, said, it's better to take the decision for you latter since you're only 16 now. He requested you to keep a contact with the local fire-fighters. Thanks for the honest courage you already showed. Thanks from two of us. We wish your success someday somehow.

My brother is 24 and he is a fireman, SO YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!! well done for getting on the P.S course, Go and speak to the firefighters down the local firestation, speak to the recruitment department, find out where the head office is and write them a letter explaining and see if they will send information about joining..shift work too, 3 days and 3 nights! If you are not out firefighting, or attending accidents or cutting ring off someones finger..then there is lots to keep you occupied, drills, roll call, training etc..good luck...make sure you look after your eyesight as they want people without glasses..so less time on the Xbox!!

It is physically demanding. You have to be mentally prepared as well for what firefighting entails. There are online practice exams available here

or through your local library's online resources. I've thought about it for years! If I wasn't a mommy, I would have given it a try by now, I'm sure. The schedule is taxing because of the 24 hour shifts in many communities, but some may prefer it that way.

Talk to the firefighters at the station. They'd love to tell you all about it.

it depends, volunteer or paid? they both are hard. you have to go in smoke houses and rescue like 7 dummies. the dummies get weighed down to about 100 pounds. sometimes you feel like you are in the army. your instructor can make you run laps, push-ups and more. in the long run, it feels good being up on stage graduating, and knowing you are a community hero.

You have to be very physically fit - the gear weighs well over 100 pounds. My uncle had to take fitness the test 2 or 3 times before he got into the training school.

The training course used to be a month and it's there to sort the men from the boys-polishing stairs, up at 6am, circuit training and drill. You have to carry a bloke up and down a ladder and crawl blindfolded through a very smoky narrow passage into a smoky room and out again.
But It's hard if you have to wear a Burka.

its hard cuz ur putting ur OWN LIFE AT RISK by saving others

well you need to be fit and strong because they test you before they hire you

Five Fingaz
the first thing they will do to all possible recruits is have them climb the truck ladder that goes up a few stories..most cant do that and leave..if you are afraid of heights forget it man..this is a big way they fish out the weak links..good luck to you..
