I myself as a teenager today do not think it's only the parents to blame. I know for a fact that many commit crimes because they feel as though they are invincible and believe they can get away with anything because they are minors. I think part of the blame should be on the lack of punishment they receive after committing crimes. They think it's all fun and games, and don't seem to care if anyone but themselves get hurt. The underage drinking and drug use may even be a problem. And so on. I think it's terrible that my generation is so careless and so lacking in class. I may not be perfect but I at least have a conscience and think over what I do unlike so many of them. |

too much crime has ben made famous on televison and newspaper media. and the new generations have started thinking that it's cool to be bad. moreso than previous ones.
if you want to place blame,..blame society for allowing it.
it's okay to televise crime, but not okay to televise dead soldiers coming home in coffins......go figure. |

It's kids like this that proves my point. All people who wish to procreate should pass an IQ test first. Stupid parents make stupid children. I think that underage kids who commit crimes should do their jail time with there parent as a cell mate. |

I wish I had the answers. This crime has truly horrified me and surely they realise that there were no winners. Thankfully this kind of thing is rare. |

It is more than likely the environment they grew up in.. If you live in a neighborhood that all you see is people killing people and knowing that you could be next then I think you become numb to feeling pretty much anything but doing what it takes to stay alive. You cant always blame the parents because parents cant be around their children all the time.. Most of the time if children grow up in a rough neighborhood the parents are probably working two and three jobs just to make it anyway.. so that doesnt leave much time for keeping your child out of trouble.. |

As all criminals they lack one thing that is a conscience, this is due to upbringing. When law-abiding citizens scratch their heads and wonder how and why, this is the reason. "How can they sleep at night?" this is why. No conscience.
I wish you well. Terry. |

Same way many cops abuse their power and feel entitled to: They're sociopaths |

A certain percentage of people simply lack the psychological ability to empathize with others. This is known as sociopathy. Basically, they are dangerous sociopaths, and should be jailed for life with no possibility of release. |

Because they have no morals, that's why. Maybe it's time to stop making media heroes out of every piece of crap who goes out and shoots people, and realizing it's not the gun's fault. It's the fault of the scumbag who pulled the trigger. It doesn't matter how bad someones childhood was or any of that sob-story pity me crap. Once someone goes out and commits a felony, they have chosen that path and should pay the consequences. It's sad that people have tragedy in their lives, BUT that does not justify going out and killing innocent people just because their lives were bad. |

You have parents who don't parent, states that tell people they can't teach their children about God, they throw out God out of the classroom who's rules are good for all society and tell the kids its okay to do anything and you get a bunch of sociopath.. you can't blame the parents entirely for bad kids, its partly the teachers union and anyone that thinks its better without God in society. |

I have worked for 2-1/2 years as an RN in an all-boys juvenile justice residential facility. All the boys there were court ordered by a judge to be there because they committed a crime. Rarely were any truly remorseful for their crimes. I found that many of their attitudes about things was a direct result of their parents attitudes about things. |

If you are not told and taught at a young age what the difference is between RIGHT and WRONG, GOOD and BAD with force and deciplin then by the time you are teenager you have no respect for anyone or anything.
I am not advocating the beating of children but if there is no moral authority that is not backed up by a quick clip or smack on the backside or legs, then how do you educate a child to understand that certain behavior will not be tollerated.
Harsh words are just that, harsh words |

If you can get to the age of 10 without learning that actions have consequences, you can never learn that fact. We need to bring back the long term lunatic asylums to accommodate the wasted generation (and their parents) |
