How can you get a public defender in WI?

Who do I have to call to get a public defnder. I need one in 10 days, but cant find anything on the internet for to get one?

Public defenders are state employees. Look in your phone book under "State of Wisconsin".

You could also call your local courthouse, they may give you the number.

Keep in mind the law is different in every state. In Wisconsin, they refer you to the public defender's office to see if you are eligible. The court does not determine if you are eligible, the state does.

You will have one appointed when you are arraigned.

Public Defenders are court appointed.
What are you going to court for? Is it a jailable offense.
Pd's usually only represent on offenses that can put u in jail. They also have to be court appointed. That means that you don't get one until the judges says so. That will take place the day of court if it is your first appearance.
