How can you get a shoplifting misdemeanor off of your record?

I got caught stealing with a friend and it was really stupid and I want it off of my record. It like just happened I don't know if I can get it taken off that quickly but I'd like to try. I haven't even gone to court yet. But I'm sure it will be a misdemeanor because my other friend got caught for the same thing a while back. And I'm in the process of looking for a job...I don't want this stupid thing to interfere with that. Any advice would be appreciated. :] Thanks.

Petition to have your record expunged. You can find out how to do it and what your state requires by searching on the Internet. You can do it yourself. You won't need a lawyer or anything like that, but there is a fee involved.

if you did the crime and found guilty then its on your record forever. You don't get things you have done wrong removed.
