How can you look at somebodies criminal record for free?

I want to do a criminal/backround check, but I don't want to pay for it. Does anybody know of any websites that really are free??

That kind of information is never usually free. The county or the state usually charges anyone. But you will also need consent from the person who you are running the background check on according to the FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) otherwise you will be having a lawsuit on your hands.

Your best bet is to speak with the local county police office or your state's department of justice.

Its public information but it could have a cost. You may want to avoid websites and just check with the police department where they live.
