How can you tell if police fabricate a statement?

how can you tell if a detective is fabricating a statement to benefit someone else. The only reason I ask is someone I know is being treated unfairly in a matter with someone who has a mental disorder who has a tenancy to love watch others suffer even when they know they it is wrong to do.

The person who is the subject of the statement needs an attorney.

the statement by the Police Officer may or may not be false.

A good attorney can cross examine the Police Officer in court.

If the statement by the Police Officer is false, that will become apparent under competent cross examination by an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney.

The only way to tell if a Police Officer is lying is the same way you can tell if anyone else is lying.

Find proof that what they are saying is not true and that they *knew* it was not true.

You should keep in mind that the 'someone you know' is very likely not telling you the entire story. Consider how desperate it sounds when the only way to substantiate a claim is to assume that a Police Detective must be lying (when they have nothing to gain).

I dated a cop for a number of years and i can tell you 1st hand they do lie and will say anything they can to make a case stick! They will stand behind other cops no matter what they did or say. THE COLOR OF THE LAW
