This is a really frustrating area of our Judiciary. I used to play golf with a practising Judge, and he just could not relate to the average working person. Wealthy family background, Boarding School, Public School, Oxford University. He is chauffeured everywhere and whilst working lives in a secure residence with servants. Until we are able to get sensible, normal streetwise people into the judiciary, nothing will change.Burglary is a serious offence, but a "nonse" should be hung by their bollocks. |

What's that saying, 'the laws an ***'. I have read some of the other comments above mine and a few people are debating whether or not you have your facts right. You have! I read recently about a man stealing a car and smashing it. It's a terrible crime but nobody died thank god. So basically, his crime was taking without consent and dangerous driving. He got 2 years. On the next page was a story about a man who systematically abused an 8 year old girl for years. He got 2 years too! Need I say more....good! Because this stuff gets me mad and it's a sunday so I don't want too! |

It defies belief. I think it is right though that the burglar had 6 years but oh so wrong that anybody who abuses children should have anything less than life. |

The justice systems all f*cked up mate, just because some tosser behind a desk thinks its a good idea to let people like that back on to the streets. I would lock em up and throw away the key. However, burglars are no angels either! |

by nonse i assume you are talking about a pedophile who has actually abused a child rather than been in possession of indecent photographs?
not sure where you got your figures from but im pretty sure that 3 years is a minimum sentance for indecent acts with a child.
Its very rare for a burglar to get 6 years, im assuming there must have been a string of prior convictions hence the lengthy sentance |

Wrong! |

The law shoulden't fail like this. Money is more important to human life to the government.
Something is very wrong. No common sense at all. ******* failures. |

couldn't agree with you more mate.-its disgraceful and an insult to the families and the victims of these scum-personally i would just hang the nonces and have done with it. i find it quite insulting to know that the taxes i work so hard to earn help to keep evil ba**ards like ian huntley in prison. |

The burgler deserves 6 years the nonse deserves the death sentence but if you look closely at most of the judges they themselves seem very shady and usually should of retired years ago. |

Because the judicial places property above human life's. Everyone seem to feel so strongly about this terrible injustice, but does anyone really get involved ? Do you write to the Legislature and Courts, then register to vote and help make some changes by voting. If you a resident of the UK, you will have even greater injustice there, reading the British Papers, it is unbelievable what the perverts get away with in Britain. The US and Britain both need to overhaul their judicial systems and get rid of some of these unethical and unjust judges. |

Quote the cases. Without background, your question is meaningless. |

your question doesn't surprise me its typical of the silly upside down laws we have in this country and no-one but no-one does a thing about changing them to become deterrents so its carry on as usual and crime increases by the hour |
