How do I reinstate my license? Colorado?

I recently had my drivers license revoked for a year + old speeding ticket. I paid the fine and did the drivers ed course for it but I was pulled over a second time recently and was told my "Drivers license was revoked" from the same incident. How do I get it reinstated or should I just fight the ticket for driving without a license? And how would I go about it?

contact your state dmv your license is not reinstated until it is entered in the computer. you did not mention if you served your year of revocation. provided you paid your fine, served your year of revocation, complied with all sanctions of court. if you have complied go to the dmv with proof of your compliance. this should reinstate you then you can take your reinstatement proof to court. they should drop the charge. if you got caught before you were in compliance you are going to stay revoked for what the penalty for this offense is. 2nd offense could be 5 years revocation. i don't know the law in colorado. if you were driving while you were truly revoked you can fight but you will not win. hopefully your info was slow getting entered, oh btw you usually have to pay a separate reinstatement fee on top of fine, penalties and education.oh and btw don't drive to the dmv office remember its a state office and there is usually state police there they catch idiots all the time. |
