How do I report a paedophile who is not convicted but suspected of an offence?

I need some strong advice on how to report a man who is well known in his area for having some sort of involvement with a young boy a few years back, but the problem is that the victims family never reported him so he hasn't got a record. This is one of the only cases heard of, but some people know of quite a few other incidents.
He is a very powerful, manipulative man with a very wealthy family even though he is avoided and disliked by people in the area. People avoid him because he is able to destroy others with his power.
He is a danger to young boys and I need to do something about this. I am almost certain that he is involved with a family with a young boy abroad and he needs to be protected.
What do I do when im scared of him and scared of being discovered of knowing anything about it?

Everything you are saying is based on suspicion and although it can prove to be based on fact in the end. Its a very thin line to tread where you could end up in trouble for making allegations that at this stage are unfounded.

If you make a report how do you expect it to be acted on?...do you know this boy abroad?...Has he told you that he is being abused by this man, or is it all a guess?

If you have some firm evidence and can point to an individual who is prepared to speak with the police, then inform the police immediately. If on the other hand its more a case of this man acts or looks differently and therefore in your head must be without a doubt a paedophile, then maybe you need to speak with someone who can help you get things into perspective in society.

If you have evidence of a crime then go to the police anonymity is usually allowed if you fear for your safety but it must be evidence not hearsay or rumor

If you have evidence (not rumors) then go to the police. If you do not have evidence, then you have nothing and should not make accusations. Making unsupported accusations could result in a lawsuit against you.

You can try reporting this to the Police or to Chidren's Protective Services, but I can identify a couple of major problems right away.

You say he is 'well known' for his involvement. How well known? Is there any actual evidence? Is there a direct witness or actual victim willing to step forward?

You say 'some sort of involvement'. That implies that you don't know exactly what kind.

You make a number of statements about him that do not apply to the issue and serve only as a character assasination (somewhat similar to an ad hominem attack). Being powerful, manipulative, and wealthy do not prove or even suggest child abuse. Mentioning that he is 'able to destroy others with his power' is a non-specific allegation about some non-specific wrong that he might hypothetically commit.

If you are in the United States, your best bet is to get the victim to come forward or, failing that, someone who has some kind of solid evidence. Outside of that, you can report your suspicions to CPS and they may even do an investigation; however, without more solid evidence to work with they may be unable to take any action. You could report it to the Police but they are even less able to act without evidence and at the very most I predict they would refer the entire thing to CPS.

This way, you have done what you can and they will probably keep up a surveillance on him.

After all, how would you feel if this man was found to have been doing this for years and you did nothing.

We all need to protect our children.

The correct way is to go to the police station. They will keep your identity secret. However, make sure you have the correct information. You could ruin someone's life if you get it wrong.

hi i need help from the age of 9 to the age of about 18 my brother and i lived with a legal guardian and he abused me for 9 years and tried it with my brother that he has said only once, at the age of 16 we moved to tenerife and it carried on my brother moved back with our mum a year after and i had to stay but moved back on my own when i was 18. i am now 27 and a few years ago i reported it to the police heard nothing back for a couple years when i contacted them they said there was nothing they could do i know he still lives in tenerife and it is a family holiday resort with children in bathing suits all day long, i have two children myself now and am worried that he could be doing anything over there.
