How do i remove a restraining order on my boyfriend?

Go to the same place that you filed it, usually the Prosecutor's office or the Courthouse, and ask what needs to be done to cancel it. Be sure that it's what you really want, though. If you cancel it and try to refile it later, you may have some problems getting another one issued. Also, after you have it terminated, ask specifically how long it will take for it to be updated in the system. Telling the Police that you had it cancelled will mean nothing if they find him with you and the order still shows active in their system.

Depends in part on where you are, i.e. state or judicial district. Usually, once issued, you have to have a judge sign off the order. If the police issued it at your request, it may terminate on its own if you do (did) mot extend or review it. READ THE ORDER. They usually state how to terminate them. The Court may require you both to attend to cancel the order.

If you had to get one in the first place then what you should be removing is the boyfriend. If you are FOOLISH enough to be lured back in by his (seemingly Oh So Sincere) promises that everything will be different this time then you are as dumb as a sack of hammers. Or at least you will feel that way when he snaps again and beats the crap out of you, or maybe sends you to the hospital, or maybe next time it will just be the end of you. Sooner or later it will if you allow an abusive punk puke to be in your life. You cannot FIX him. He is broken--like an old toaster--you need to throw it on the junk pile and go get another.

Before you do anything, why did you put it on him to begin with? You can go back to court. Why would you do that then take it off. They are for people that are in need of PROTECTION FROM OTHER CRAZY people.. Why would you waste the Courts time and $$ if you were not going through with it. Don't let him worm his way back, you will never be able to get rid of him for good...

I dunno......Call the police and ask them, but I think you will be sorry and the police won't come as quickly as they did the first time when you two were fighting, n-kay!?

Where I live, you contact the domestic abuse service center where your RO was drafted and tell them that you want the "no contact order" lifted. This will only happen if you are the person who filed for that order in the first place, you cannot have a no contact order dropped if another person is the one who is the petitioner

Why would you want to remove a restraining order? you must of put it there for a reason, you would be making a mistake to remove it. but that's you. Cha!

Have you gone in to make it permanent? If not it gets dropped if you don't go to court. Are you sure , after all, that restainig order came from something. Been there done that.

I think that you go to the Court clerk's office and obtain an affidavit that both parties have to sign and show their ID.You then send it to the Judge and he will set a court date.He will then decide if it should be removed or not.If it is a restraining order with an expiration date,you can wait until it expires and it will no longer be valid.Hope this helps.

If you filed for the order, you would file a new petition to have the court amend or vacate the previous order.

If you put it on him, call your attorney and have it cancelled. If someone else has it on him, there is nothing you can do.
