How do the police hand cuff one armed people?

In Ireland they put both cuffs on one wrist. In USA they cuff both ankles. In UK, one cuff goes round the neck, the other on the one arm, (subject to social worker approval). In Saudi one cuff round the wrist, one round an ankle. In Iraq, they cuff both ankles, then shoot you in the head.

During the five or six times that I had to do this I always cuffed their good arm to the back belt loop. I did it far enough to the opposite side so that they could not exert force and rip the belt loop off. Once or twice I also added a set of leg shackles to the ankles.

They usually attached the other cuff to the persons belt, behind them. If they don't have a belt on, most departments have a Sargent in the area and use the waist shackles which is a thick belt or chain that goes around the waist, and has a short handcuff attached to the each side of it. cant move you hand that way.

it seems like they'd have to cuff the person to something else such as his wrist to his upper arm, or to something they attached to his waist, or shackles to his feet.

They may attach the other cuff to a belt loop or something. Or maybe another police officer will handcuff themselves to the prisoner.

Believe it or not. A man with a prosthetic hand, arrived in the police charge room having been arrested. He was handcuffed. Suddenly, with his good hand, he removed the other one, swung it around his head, hitting one of the arresting officers in the face, breaking his teeth.

no no no it's a scientifically proved fact that one armed people don't break the law. thus we should cut one arm off all criminals instead of tossing them in jail and then they'd be instantly cured of their tendency to commit crimes.

I don't think they do cuff them if they have to move. They make them walk with their arm behind their head.
When in the vehicle, they cuff them to the cage, or to the door handle.

I have an article blurb here indicating that policemen don't seem to know what to do either. I guess the odds of arresting a one-armed bandit are pretty slim that they have no contingency plan.

same way the do minorities. they beat them half to death and call it resisting then toss them into the wagon while there unconscious
