The park people have long, extending poles which they use to put 'the dont walk on the grass' signs. They don't walk on the grass incase some one reports them to their employers. However, sometimes the park person has very long arms and he can put the sign in place without having to use the extending pole. Another way they do it is to string a wire high over the grass which they balance along and drop the sign in place and one day I saw a sign put in place by a man with a special cross bow that fired the sign to where he was aiming. The only thing about this last method was that the sign landed the wrong way round and we had to walk on the grass to read what it said. |

They are planted there by fairies from the bottom of the garden, laboriously flying together and holding onto the sign with their hands. When they reach the centre, they all drop the sign so that it sticks into the perfect grass sward earth, and dust their hands, considering a well-done job. |
