How do you feel about Cops?

There are good and bad cops..but all in all they are mostly good and we need them and I'm glad we have them..maybe if they weren't so underpaid we'd have more of them.

And honestly they are never as nice in real person as they are on the tv show.

Plus alot of the TV show is re-shot to get the effect they want, and/or to get thier officer they are riding with envolved in the arrest.

After seeing first hand the shooting of thier show in one US city, I never watched it again since I found out how unread it really was.

Do you really expect anyone you hate to do anything above and beyond what is called for as a part of their job to help you?

I used to be a cop and I am married to a cop. Most of the law enforcement officers I know are great people with a real heart for their job.

Don't like getting pulled over? Don't break traffic laws.

its like a story my teacher told me. he used to pick on the poeple that usually talk and give them demerits while the others were talking to. african americans are seem causeing more trouble thats why police might pick on them, then not picking on other colors

It depends on what the African American was doing and where it takes place. I'm thankful for most cops but as in any large group of people there are going to be those who give the rest a bad name.

I'm a cop, so obviously I like cops. I have never picked on anyone, and have never seen anyone that I work with pick on anyone. I have seen people use this card or that one when the police investigate them, but never has it been the police picking on them.

Police Officers have to "wear many hats". They have to listen to arguments, console a muder victim's loved one, attempt to subdue a violent offender, find decomposed bodies left discarded, attempt to quell riots, listen to being called all the names in the book. ANd then they go home and try tolive a decent normal life with their own families. It takes commitment, honor and dedication to go out each day and do what Police officers do. Some make mistakes but the large majority do their best day in and day out. Officers will only contact you if you give them a reason to.

well, in my experience with them (in good ways mind you) they are very rude, and they think they are much better than the average person. They also think they dont have to abide by the laws and rules. I think they do their job, and keep lots of things under control, and people safe, but their methods really piss me off.

i know a policeman personally(my son) who is native American,he doesn't pick on anyone,but when a dead deer is on the highway,or a bear going rampage,he is the first to be called,since he is closer to nature,you know being Indian and all,see that can go both ways.

I get a second opion when I see police picking on any person without just cause---but not all police are this way---only the ones who abuse their status

There are good cops and bad cops. Some are fair, some not, but one thing they all are is human.

Sometimes Blacks are picked on by cops with an attitude, but sometimes what you see is only a small part of the picture and the police reactions were brought about by the behavior of the individual themselves.

Don't judge all cops by the few bad cops that seem to cause all the trouble.

When I was a cop, one fellow filed a complaint against myself and 2 other officers, claiming we beat him when we arrested him. He was lying through his teeth as it was a wrestling match and no blows ever landed on him. He refused arrest because he knew he was guilty and his behavior was very aggressive. His complaint was dismissed after investigation, but it caused difficulties for myself and fellow officers.

There are many people arrested who make such claims, and many fall back on the excuse that they belong to a specific racial group in order to gain sympathy, they do not get any from me.

For those people of any race who are unjustly abused by an officer/officers, the cops should be punished and removed from the police force if necessary. There is no excuse for that kind of behavior among the police.

P.S. I never racially profiled anyone. What I did was profile behavior, if you happened to be of another race, I did not care what you did, as long as it was legal.

Also, I forgot to mention I was a tribal police officer for a while and most of the bad guys and gals were members of the Tribe, but we got others too.

racial profiling pisses the hell out of me. as do cops who automatically pull over out of state tags, park in my parking spot, or race through my neighborhood. They cause more problems half the time then the actual bad guys.

cops are equal opportunity annoyer's ... doesn't matter as far as color.... they follow the criminal element wherever it is.... personally i want to know when the lowered to requirements on height and fitness

I feel that the overwhelming majority of cops do a great job. I wish they were able to kick a little butt without the lawyers swarming. Generally, they don't tend to mess with the innocent ones among us.

I have not seen cops "picking on" blacks. However, I have often seen blacks picking on the cops (throwing bottles included). How does that sit with people?

how i feel about cops- a necessary evil. picking on colored people- no worse than those of use with real long hair or tattoo's are drive a certain type of motorcycle, it's life get over it.

Cops, generally are stupid people who enjoy hassling the public. If a cop has any sense, he'll work the job for a few years while he's young, then move on to productive employment.

I have never seen a cop picking on an African American, in fact most of the cops I know are African American. I would say in general, I like cops even when it comes to getting pulled cause usually I am speeding.

Yeah...Just like poor Tookie. He was such a nice man. A real role model. Half my friends in Folsom prison were picked on by the PO PO. @@it, what a shame. All the police want is to take out the poor black man.
