There's a difference between can't and won't. |

Your "excuse" doesn't hold any water with the court. You'd have to be a physician or lawyer and that probably won't work either. I'm a retired cop and get called for duty but never picked. I have no idea why. |

Based on those facts, you are not legally excused from jury duty. Everyone has a job that they can't afford to miss for jury duty. |

There isn't any reason why you can't go other than you don't want to do your civic duty. Give us a break..... |

In California they do not take any excuses anymore. What they do now that they did not do before is if you do not get put on a jury the first day you are there, you do not have to go back, your done |

You CAN go to jury duty. IF you convince the judge serving would be an 'undue burden', you MAY be dismissed. If you work for a securities firm, you can't lose your job while serving on a jury. If you are a day-trader, you need a real job before you find out how little you are actually making after taxes.
krazy_gal04 is mistaken about being registered to vote. Many states have changed to draw jury pools from anyone with a drivers license. This 'get out of jury duty' strategy is the reason why. Besides, if you received a jury summons, you ARE in the jury pool. If you had not received the summons, you would probably not be asking. |

Just go and get it over with. Showing up does not mean that you will get chosen to sit on a panel. Most often you sit around for most of the day. Later in the day, a group of people will be called out to a court room or another room and the question/selection process begins. Once you get there and see how the process works it becomes interesting. Take lots of singles for the vending machines. |

Take one day off of work and when they ask you if you are racists just say yes they will never call you again. |

-If you know the person that's on trial then you can't be on jury duty or if you know anyone that's even involved in the trial (I think)
-If you aren't registered to vote then you won't be on jury duty
Those are all I can think of right now! I don't think there are any other ways to get out of jury duty! If you 'suddenly' get put in the hospital or something like that where you can't go, then they will probably just re-schedule your duty dates!! So that won't work either!! Sorry for your situation!! |

If they are a race different than you, just make comments like "Dirty Nword, kill them all" Stuff like that. My brother shaved his head and put a fake tat of a swaztika on his head so when he took off his hat they could see it. 20 years later, they still have not called him back. |

you cant man. Even worse, if they think that you intentionally did something to try to get out they will press charges against you. Your best hope is that during the interview you are not what they are looking for and they ask you to leave. Good luck. |
