It depends on the agreements established between the city police and the surrounding police departments. Some give each other the go ahead to pursue and arrest as necessary. |

It's not like once you get out of their jurisdiction, you're safe. If they are after you, they can get you anywhere. |

It depends on the departmental policy. For example I work for the County Sheriff Dept. and if we need back up from the city police they can come out and help us. However without us asking them they can't leave their city limits. |

Depends.
Is the city officer "deputized" by the county sheriff?
What are the laws of the state of Texas?
Does the city have a mutual aide agreement with the surrounding jurisdictions?
Was the officer in pursuit? |

Many departments require their officers to carry their service weapons at all times, so essentially they have jurisdiction pretty much wherever they go in the US. |

In Texas it is really statewide, there are some limitations though. I recommend you read Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 14, that deals with the authority of Peace Officers in Texas. |

i just learned this in constitutional law, if u run a stop sign in green bay and a cop doesnt pull you over until after you leave the city it is okay for him to do so. this is called fresh persuit. a cop does have the authority to pull you over in other jurisdictions if he has probable cause unless the jurisdection of his department specifiacally says not to.most police officers will probably not do this if they are not in jurisdiction but they do have the option. so yes if a dallas police officer believes a crime or ordinace has been violated or commited he has the othority to pull you over in austin he can. |

I first say hi neighbor, don't live too far from there and was raised there.
All have certain jurisdictions, but all are by law able to hold you until an official for that area arrives. At least I know that has happened to me.
Check with local officials. |

lol if he's an austin cop he has it to the austin city limits, but if he's a texas state trooper he can go all over texas. |

The city police officers are in city limits, but the sheriffs department has jurisdiction in the county. |
