It wasn't impounded. It was confiscated and will be sold in an auction and the money will go to the state. Sorry but they take all drug dealers assets when they make a raid and find drugs.. |

If they can tie the vehicle to the drugs, they can keep it indefinitely. They do not have to find drugs in the car, they just need to prove the car was tied to any illegal drug activity. |

For as long as they want to and/or for as long as they are able to. Holding you is a lot different than holding your vehicle (evidence). To be a little more technical, if they want to hold it beyond what you want, but they haven't found anything in it yet you would have to petition the courts and then its based on whatever legal argument they throw out to a judge and if the judge follows the law (whatever it may be). If there is no related case against you, you should get it back, but anything is possible. |

If they found any drugs in the raid of the house.....they can sell it possibly depending on the state...if just the car...till the trial |

They don't have to find drugs in the car to seize it.
If the 'drug raid' resulted in finding of any illegal substances and the vehicle was present or available to the individuals targeted in the raid, the agency can file for forfeiture of the vehicle.
Chances are slim you'll ever get it back.
