Call now. There is no rule. If you have reason to suspect that your husband is in danger, then act now. |

no, there isnt a time frame as to when you can report them missing.. understand though that there probably wont be any type of search mission or anything, they may check the general area where your husband was going, but that is all for starters.. if you are really nervous, call the police |

Most police departments wait 24 hours before officially declaring some one "missing"... although you can report it at any time if you think he is in danger... which i would suggest you do... |

24 hours, but alert the local authorities anyway. Has anyone heard from his fishing buddies |

Well, I'd call someone. They always say 48 hours, but don't wait. And good luck to you. I hope he is safe. Hugs. |

Each place is different but I would start by calling the Coast Guard (if on a large body of water) or Sheriff department. Call the local police. You are not crazy just concerned. |

Call now. However, before they are considered an official "missing person" and exdtend a lot of resources, I think it is 24 hours. But CALL NOW they will probably be able to check into it.
Good luck, I am sending positive thoughts your way. |

In CA, law enforcement officers are required by law to take a missing persons report, there is no time limit on when that may be made. |

I think it's 48 hours for an adult, unless you suspect foul play or as you have stated, maybe a problem with the boat. Just call your local police department (not 911) and tell them what you told us. |

24 hours according to our local police department (Indiana) |

it's about 48 hours according the PD. Do you know the place he went to? See if they can get a park ranger to help you. |

I would report it now but I don't think they will put a search out of him untill it has been 24 hours. I wish you well. |

My dad would go fishing for longer than 12 hours. I would be concerned only if he is not back close to the time he said he would be back. If he is on a boat, being concerned because of bad weather is expected. How is the weather? But give him time to get home by the time he said he would be back. I wouldn't automatically assume that boat problems means it is sinking, it could be only engine trouble.
How long have you been married? It'll be okay. :)
GLAD TO HEAR HE IS FINE!!! :) |

Its never early to ask for help. Has he given you a time frame he will be back by. If you think 12 hours is too late and are panicking please don't delay and call search and rescue. Its okay if you look stupid if he is well and just was busy to pick your call. But if he is not okay and you delay in asking for help, you will not be able to digest it later.
Please pick up the phone and dial for search and rescue, ask them if you are panicking too early. You don't necessarily have to ask them to go and search for your husband, you can just ask for some advice. Trust me you wont look stupid. |
