I got basically one of the stupidest tickets ever for going 6 miles over the speed limit (while someone next to me was probably going about 90)...the cop said it would come in the mail in 1-2 weeks.
Well its been almost 5 weeks and STILL hasn't come, I've set money aside to pay the ticket (which is hard since I'm a med student and work part time so don't have any money to begin with). I was planning on doing traffic school when it came, but it never has.
Does this mean the cop never wrote the report or what? I think its been quite a long time for it to not show up.

It said that you didn't need to go to court date unless you were disputing the ticket. He gave me a ticket, but he said details would be sent in the mail within 1-2 weeks (including payment and such)

When you were cited, you should have been given a copy of the cite (after signing it) - which is nothing more than a promise to appear. It usually has a space on the bottom of it for your initial court appearance.
You should have gotten a courtesy notice after 3-4 weeks, which would have explained all of your options. This might vary, depending on busy the court clerical staff is. If you haven't received the notice, either the officer didn't turn in the cite (which means you're in the clear so far, or the courts are just backed up).
You still have the responsibility of showing up in court on the date indicated, whether you got the notice or not.
My suggestion is to call the courts for the jurisdiction where you were cited (usuall, the phone number at the bottom of the cite) and ask for the status of your cite - you'll be asked for your name, the cite number and the issuing agency. They would be able to give you the info you need.

Your best bet is to contact the courts and ask them these questions They are the ones who will process your ticket and will know all the laws and regulation. You should also ask the courts if you are allowed to take a driving school class. This will prevent your insurance from going up and points from being placed on your license. Just make sure you get the courts permission before doing so. If you don’t the courts will reject your driving school certificate. Good luck! |

If the cop sed it`ll come in about 1-2 wks & hasn`t arrived , it's possible that he nvr wrote yu a ticket in the first place . |
