Do you mean "WHILE stoned"???
Is it cool to drive while not able to focus or react quickly and possibly harm yourself or others?
YES you can be arrested for DUI (in California it is CVC 23152 A) Driving under the influence of alcohol OR drugs. |

First of all I don't drink or smoke anything. But to all you rocket scientist that have posted. How many fatal auto accidents this year caused by drivers that were stoned? I be surpised if you can find one nation wide. Just as bad as alcohol huh. What a bunch of uptight morons. |

I personally would not drive high but then again, I do not smoke pot.
However, in high school I knew several people that drove BETTER stoned. And I know this because I was sober. This one friend of mine was so reckless when he was sober and so cautious and law-abiding when he was high that I refused to get into the car with him unless he was stoned! (I didn't get my license until I was 18 so I had to depend on my friends to drive me around otherwise I would have drove myself)
For the record, I don't feel the same way about alcohol or any other drug use while driving. |

i do it because it gets me friends and i like feeling the coolest person in the world while i am dodging the police and pedestrians. the natural high is usually unfelt through how stoned i am when i drive. i can't even feel my face let alone the "natural high". they can arrest me for dui IF they can catch me!!! and if they do even better because then people will think i am a bad ***. then when i get home i smoke another one and kill some puppies. is that what you want to hear? because if it is...well we won't go there. and yes it is irresponsible but i would rather have 6 stoned people on the road than one person drunk driving, 4 talking on the cell phone, and 4 eating (not all at once i hope) |

You can get an OVI (or DUI or DWI) for driving while high. |

Irresponsible substance use is the same regardless of substance, and is always a bad idea. |

I don't understand how all these high and mighty, holier than thous can get on here and espouse their disapproval when almost half of the people in the US are driving under the influence of something. The other half are yacking on their cell phones, not initializing turn signals, tail gaiting and pulling out in front of you and all of these are numb from living life in the fast lane and trying to keep up with the Jones'.
Fact is, every one should be responsible for their actions. If your too drunk or too stoned to drive, don't drive. |

No, bad idea. It has been already prove statistically that driving while impaired is a major factor in high death rate as well as injuries not to mention property damage.
Rephrase your question is it cool for a doctor to do surgery while under the influence of narcotics or alcohol?
Anyone who drives drunk or with narcotics in their system should be restricted from having a license for life. |

What prompted this question? Do you have some sort of vendetta against someone who did this? I'm not condoning this behavior at all, but at the same time people are going to do what they want to do regardless of your opinion, right or wrong. Why can't people mind their own business? |

to me it is the stupidest thing someone can do.
why would someone want to endanger their own life and the lives of their passengers plus all the innocent bystanders out there? it's just stupid. |
