I'm more concerned with the number of Officers killed by suspects.

The number killed is not the important thing. The important thing is how many of the killings were justified? If I wind up shooting six people, by myself, in the line of duty and they were all justified shootings then big deal. As long as I live to go home to my family I'll be happy. Sometimes you have to do things like that in this line of work.

You should be able to do a search for Police shootings in Fresno. You may have to read through some news stories to sort them out.

I'm a huge 2nd Amendment supporter. You won't get any arguments from me about that part of your answer.

An armed suspect is not always a requirement for lethal force (although any armed suspect certainly is a danger and can lead to lethal force). For example, if six unarmed men attacked me I would be justified in using lethal force because there is the obvious risk of death or serious bodily injury because I can't possibly fight off six men with my bare hands, or baton, or Taser without being killed or seriously injured. Or if a lone suspect puts his hands in his pocket and tells me he is going to shoot me I could shoot him even if it turned out he only had a cell phone in his pocket. I would be cleared by the court if I shot him because there is the obvious risk of immenent death or serious injury if he pulls a gun. I don't have to wait for him to draw a gun and shoot me, I could assume he was about to. I don't care if you think there is too much lethal force used. Because of men and women like me you don't have to worry about things like that. We do the job for you.

Use of force is a very complex thing that requires us to make split second decisions that could cost us our lives or other people theres. The public and society have the luxury of looking at our actions after the fact and with all the time in the world and with possession of facts we don't always have when deciding on these actions. That is why it is always easy for the public to decide if we should have done what we did.

I know that around 2000 people in the U.S. die at the hands of or in the custody of the police each year! That's pretty damn scary to me. No wonder why people are freaking out and fighting back against the police. They are afraid that they are going to get murdered by them!
