i'd say 20 or more. why do you need an arsenal? not that there's anything wrong with that. i'd like one myself. but i think collection is more appropriate for civilian use. arsenal sounds cool but it also sounds like your gonna start a war. ;)

thats subjective...more than the uses to which you put your weapons. If you're a collector, you'll have a wide variety of weapons...if youre stocking an arsenal, you might have 5 AK 47s and several thousand rounds of ammo. A sportsman might have several rifles and shotguns, with approp ammo for each.

I think the exact number is subject to the discretion of the FBI, ATF, DOJ, or whichever alphabet soup agency decides to lay siege to your compound.

In Randy Weaver's case, he got the Feds' attention because he owned 13 weapons. Ultimately that was the basis for the federal governments' justification of the murders of his wife and fourteen-year-old son.

In the case of the Mount Carmel massacre, the feds initially took an interest in those folks because they were stockpiling arms and ammunition. They had almost one rifle for every two adults living in their commune and had "stockpiled over a thousand rounds of ammunition".

That gets a subjective answer from most, but some of our liberal U.S. Senators and Congressmen have attempted to pass legislation that would call a collection of 20 firearms an arsenal, requiring registration of the guns, an expensive "arsenal permit" and subjecting the law-abiding owner to high annual taxation. Of course, once really in power, they could cut that number to ten, or five, or two. It's one way they have tried to disarm America. EVERYTHING would be counted, including Grandpa's old single-barrel shotgun, your Daisy BB gun, your .22 target gun, antiques made before 1898 that were already judged to be "exempt" under the firearms act of 1964, etc.

Better get with it and support the NRA and your local firearms rights organizations (be sure they aren't bogus groups that call themselves "sportsmen's organizations" but are actually try to legislate against your firearms rights). This is SERIOUS. Let Hillary get into power and the Clinton gun ban will be back in early 2008, with all the power of gun-haters like John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Charles Schumer, Diane Feinstein, Barbara Boxer, John Conyers, Chris Dodd, et al, trying ever to strip you of your rights to own a gun. It has happened all over the world, especially in England, Canada, and Australia, and it CAN happen here.

BTW, do you realize that, despite two federal court orders, Mayor Ray Nagin of New Orleans has NEVER returned any of the guns seized during Katrina to their lawful owners?

An arsenal could be a cabinet with any number of firearms in it. Arsenal doesn't necessarily mean weapons either. ie: "He came to the meeting with an impressive arsenal of new research data." If you can supply weapons, you have an arsenal.

I think just one. But you know, I don't think there is any actual charge that includes having an arsenal versus having a rifle, etc. It's just a word used by the media to make things sound more exciting.

Depends on your psychological and physiological demeanor. Do you rant and rave about society and its injustices, your situation in our society and etc. If you complain a lot and make irrational statements about wishing people dead then 1 weapon may be too many for you. On the other hand, if you are even tempered and mild in your approach to socio/economical issues then the sky is the limit. Bottom line is the numbers are dependent upon your behavior.

katana sword and a double edge thin blade and a straight edge blade, better than bullets, you will slice and dice before you will become disarmed. a bullet can miss but generally speaking you swing you hit. In my personal experience, you pull a sword or stick a blade at someones throat, they back of very quickly. it appears to me through experience, that the fear of losing any piece of the body exceeds the fear of a single bullet.
edit: play smart, use your brain, because if you over think it, it can be turned around and used against you, keep it simple!!!
