Just seen a advert last week for the police new recruits are earning 21k a year and u can earn upto 27k. not sure on exact details on stuff.x

It all depends on the department. Some departments offer incentives for having college degrees, military time, time served as an officer, and even physical fitness. The average starting is probably somewhere i the 40,000s. Overtime can be a big factor as well. My starting salary was 47,000 with college incentives an such but with overtime I'm on pace to have made over 60,000 my first year before taxes.

after 2 years probation you get a 2k raise 1k a year raise a year for about 10 years.

starting out usually about 40,000 a year depending on the area. For instance, if u go to like New Orleans the get paid a little better than 40,000 because its a high risk area. If u go to the country, You may make less but you won't encounter as many criminals.

It sorely depends on the police officers rank, PC`s can expect to start on around Â£22,000 a year progressing as they get promoted or gain certain qualifications and skills. I no that a Detective Inspector can expect to earn an average of Â£41,000 in a average police station.
