the stoplight camera just took a picture of me making a right turn without stopping at a red light...I'm from Glendale CA does anyone know approximately how much it might cost me? oh and plus me and my passanger werent wearing seat belts...will i get charged with that one too?

WEll I was driving up the block to drop off my friend so i didnt think it wud be a big deal to not put a seat belt on butt guess i was wrong

I did a rolling stop in Newark,CA in front of a redlight camera and got a $381 ticket last August.
Hey, always wear a seatbelt ! You might be a careful driver, but some idiot might hit you. I got rear ended by an SUV while sitting at a redlight back in 2003. If I wasn't wearing a seatbelt, I might of been throw up against the steering wheel. I was on disability for 9 months with a concussion. |

Sounds like you're in for something like $400, at least.
If you're not one of the idle rich, why would you risk traffic fines for something as simple as a seat belt ? |

Newark is cash strapped, and is exploiting people who drive through it with extremely over priced camera tickets.
For example if you make a right turn on a red light, at some major intersections now they are charging you $466 for an infraction, and $520 if you want to go to traffic school, and you still need to pay for traffic school on top of that. It's a form of legal robbery. I feel like I was robbed at gun point. It's not fair, and it's exploiting the tax paying people in depressed economy and the judicial system is backing them 100%.
They wonder why the people are losing touch with their local governments. This is a prime example as to why people are angry, and are finding any relief from their leaders. I will go out of my way now to avoid shopping in Newark in the future.
Oh by the way, they are also setting up stings having people cross the streets as well in order to give expensive tickets if you do not provide 100% right of way to these police monitored cross walks with paid individuals who are precisely placed there by law enforcement as a revenue driven source to subsidize their local county government. |
