For those that think they don't put 9 year olds "in the slammer", if you want an eye opener, check out your local Juvenile Hall, also called JUVIE.
They probably won't sentence them to Juvie if it's first time, but if he gets in trouble alot, then they will need to do something. And hopefully he will learn from this and do what is right in the future. |

In Canada no one under the age of twelve can be charged with a criminal offence. No charges/court/jail time. The school would have to suspend (or expel) the child and the Child Protection Services would get involved to look into the child's home life to see if they can help/ |

In GA 9 year old children can not be punished by any court for any criminal act. |

If it's his first offense, he'll probably get probation. I don't think they're going to put a nine-year-old in the slammer. |

If it's a first offense, he will probably be suspended from school, and ordered to go to a counselor. I highly doubt he will be sent to "juvie". |
