How senior is the rank of 'Additional Inspector General of Police' in India/Pakistan/Bangladesh...

I am now guessing only from my perception and what I read about the subject, and I may be wrong.
Additional Inspector General of Police in Bangladesh (Add'l IG) is in same status as that of IG, but he is 2nd in the hierarchy after the IG.
This is just like Secretary and Additional Secretary in the Secretariat of the Ministries where the Add'l Secretary would take order from Secretary, but their rank and status is same as far as salary is concerned.
Btw, my distant brother-in-law (wife's cousin's hubby) was an Additional Inspector General of Police in Dhaka, Bangladesh, got retired a few years ago. |
